Born in the heart of southern Sweden, raised on ordspråk and homemade cinnamon buns, she grew up steeped in the rhythms of a language where every syllable carries history and every idiom has a story. This lifelong love affair with Swedish—its poetry, its structure, its quiet beauty—naturally led her to a degree in Swedish Philology, where she dove deep into everything from historical linguistics to the sociopolitics of syntax.

After university, she didn’t just file her diploma away—she put it to work. Whether teaching in a classroom, leading community workshops, or helping international students untangle the mysteries of their new language, she’s made it her mission to keep Swedish alive, vibrant, and accessible. She brings a mix of academic rigor, cultural storytelling, and dry humor to every lesson, believing that language isn’t just grammar—it’s memory, identity, and above all, connection.

KARIN DAHLSTRÖM

JOHAN BERGQVIST

Software engineer from Malmö, from an early age, he was drawn to the richness of the Swedish language and the way it reflects the nation’s culture, history, and evolving identity. This passion eventually guided him to pursue studies in Scandinavian Languages and Communication, sharpening both his linguistic skills and his ability to share knowledge with others.

As a member of our team, he now serves as a Language Content Specialist, dedicated to creating engaging, authentic, and practical learning materials. His work combines a strong academic foundation with an appreciation for everyday spoken Swedish, helping learners feel at home in both casual and formal contexts. Beyond the desk, he enjoys cycling along the Öresund coast, exploring contemporary art galleries, and collecting stories from people he meets—because for him, language is not just learned, it’s lived.

ERIK LINDSTRÖM

Born in Stockholm and raised on a steady diet of Strindberg, folk songs, and theatre, Erik has always viewed language as more than just rules—it’s a living, breathing expression of identity and culture. After earning his degree in Swedish Linguistics and Literature, he spent several years teaching Swedish to international students and creating educational content for language learning platforms.

Now a Language Content Developer on our team, Erik brings together academic rigor and a love for spoken, everyday Swedish. When he’s not writing or editing, you’ll likely find him wandering through antique markets, scribbling phrases in his notebook at a café, or cycling along the archipelago—always observing, always absorbing.

ELIN SJÖBERG

Raised in Stockholm, she grew up surrounded by fika traditions, fresh kanelbullar, and the melodic rhythm of the Swedish language. Living in a city where history and modern life intertwine, she developed a deep appreciation for the stories, sounds, and soul of Sweden—and found her purpose through its language.

She joined us with one clear goal: to make Swedish more accessible and authentic. In a digital world overflowing with generic phrases and clunky translations, she’s committed to offering something real. And if her students walk away knowing how to master word order with confidence and how to win over a tant with their pronunciation? Mission accomplished!

ANDERS HOLMGREN

Born in Uppsala, he grew up surrounded by cobblestone streets, historic university halls, and the cadence of the Swedish language woven into daily life. He studied Swedish Linguistics and Education, where he combined academic knowledge with a passion for teaching.

Today, as part of our team, he works as a Language Content Developer, crafting resources that make Swedish both approachable and inspiring for learners worldwide. Whether he’s designing grammar guides, writing dialogues, or fine-tuning cultural insights, he approaches each task with precision and creativity. Outside of work, you’ll often find him at second-hand bookshops, jotting ideas in his notebook over a strong coffee, or hiking through the forests of Uppland—always curious, always learning.
